Our History

Lakeside Marine was established in 1957 by Earl and Bernice Brightbill. Lakeside at that time, became dealers for Mercury outboards, Glaspar and Sea Mac boats. Over the next 60 years we were pleased to represent boat lines such as Grady White, Glastron, Ebbtide, Cobalt, Fountain, Crestliner, Aluma Craft, StarCraft, Sea Ark, DuraCraft, RiverTrail, Polar Craft, and several others. In 1986 Lakeside became a dealer for Yamaha Outboards, then G-3 Boats a few years later. Earl served on many dealer advisory groups. He was a personal friend of Carl Kiekhaefer, the founder of Mercury Marine. Earl was the recipient of an award for serving over 12 years on the Mercury Marine Dealer Advisory Board.

Bob Brightbill and his wife Irene joined the Lakeside operation full time in 1972 after his graduation from Shippensburg University and Temple University, and teaching in the Cumberland Valley School district. Bob became President of Lakeside Marine Inc. in 1982; He served five years on the National Safe Boating Advisory Council. He also served on the executive board of the Pa. Marine Dealers Association. A life member of the United States Power Squadron and holds 25 merit marks.

Barbara Nuss (Daughter of Bob and Irene) joined the Lakeside Marine full time in 1989. After graduation from Penn State University in 1987 she was a public school teacher for one year. She and her husband JC have continued to build the Lakeside Marine organization. Becoming President in 2005, she was instrumental in transitioning to aluminum fishing boats with an emphasis on jet outboards. Lakeside has been awarded the prestigious Five Star Dealer Award by G-3 Boats for every year since 2017. Barbara is a vessel safety examiner for the United States Power Squadron. 

Ryan Daub (son of Barb) – the 4th generation. After graduation from Harrisburg Area Community College with a degree in Business, Ryan joined Lakeside full time in 2017. Growing up in the marine business he started attending Yamaha service schools at age 16. In 2018 he finished the courses and is now recognized as a Yamaha Outboard Master Technician.

For over 63 years Lakeside Marine has continued as a family owned and operated Marine dealer. However our success is also in large part of a dedicated staff, including Tim Renninger, Butch Pintanonti, Dave Kirchdoerfer, Paul Browski, Greg Plank and Cade Sherry.
